i like you, i can't help that i'm black
OH NO. my dad called my uncle today and about half way through their conversation my uncle decides to tell him that a boy was "persuing" me at grace's wedding. and he doesn't stop there. he also informs my dad that the boy who was "persuing" me was half black (he was?). then he tells my dad he regrets not introducing me to the groom's brother because "he's half black too, and he likes filipino women". and the whole time my uncle is chuckling like its the funniest thing. can you imagine the palpatations my dad was having? i just sat there like.. are these words REALLY coming out of your mouth uncle?? he got off the phone and went "oh your dad, he's too protective of you" - if you knew this then WHY did you tell him all that?
solo asked me once (probably the most awkward conversation we've ever had) why colour mattered. eeeek. i never thought i'd ever have to answer that one. how do you answer that without making your parents look racist? they're just of a different generation i guess. oh well, after july 28 that's not something i'm really going to have to think about. lets just hope the topic doesn't come up while i'm there.
i lost my footing on the stairs last night and kinda fell. haha it was funny, except my mobile was in my back pocket and now my fat ass has damaged the external screen. dammit.
okay so i have less than a week left here. before i leave i want to: sunbake (that's a word right? my cousins laugh at me when i say it) at laguna beach, shop at The Block, and go to San Diego. probably only 1 of the 3 will get fulfilled but i'm satisfied with my stay already so i don't mind. apart from the last 2 days, i've had a blast here.
